Parent Group

Our next Parent Group starts OCTOBER 14, 2017

Are you feeling overwhelmed by your child’s behaviors?  Do you feel isolated because your child is different than others?  Or, perhaps, you are just wanting to learn some new research-informed parenting strategies?  This could be the group for you!

Who Can Attend?
Single parents, Married Parents, Divorced Parents, Step Parents, Grand Parents, Adoptive Parents, Foster Parents… Any kind of Parent is welcome.

When Will the Group Meet?
The group meets 6 times from 9:00-10:30am on the 2nd Saturday of each month October through March.

Dates:  10/14/17, 11/11/17, 12/9/17, 1/13/18, 2/10/18, 3/10/18

Where is the Group?
The group will be at our Wheat Ridge office at 4251 Kipling St, Suite, 430, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033.

How much does it cost?
Cost is $40 for each parent or $50 per couple per group session.  Payment is due regardless of group attendance for all 6 group sessions.  There is an additional $15 registration fee plus the first group’s fee to hold your space.  Each parent/couple will receive a copy of The Whole Brain Child, which will be used in the group.

Do I need to attend all 6 group sessions?
Group members are encouraged to attend all 6 sessions to experience the most benefits; however, we understand that emergencies, illnesses, and family trips happen.  It is important that you attend as many groups as possible, as the group is closed to new group members once it begins.

What will we be doing?
In this 6-session group, parents will share their stories, struggles, and successes with one another.  Our goal is to create a safe place for each parent to be their authentic self.  This occurs by group members experiencing caring and acceptance from one another to support each other and to explore new possibilities.  In addition, we will discuss 12 revolutionary strategies to nurture your child’s developing mind as presented in the book The Whole Brain Child. This book provides easy to understand, scientific information on how a child’s brain develops and functions. Parents will learn how to help their children handle and respond to different experiences and challenges.

Who leads this group?
The group will be led by Adria Rigg, LPC, LMFT and Master’s Level Interns.

How do I register?
Email or call 720-229-6154.  We will complete a phone or in-person consultation with you to ensure the group is appropriate for meeting your needs.
